The South Richmond Adult Day Care Center was established in 1975 by the joint efforts of First Baptist Church of South Richmond and St. Stephens Episcopal church. There was recognized need early on for guidance, referral services and structured activities for the elderly in the South Richmond community, a low-income area with a large elderly population.
The vision was to create a program for older adults who had retired and would benefit from recreation, socialization, and other activities to enrich their lives.
SRADCC provides a safe and stimulating environment where participants can come to engage in recreational programs while building lasting friendships and memories. We encourage our participants to engage in daily therapeutic recreational programs. We also ensure that our families are provided with educational programs throughout the year and resources that are provided for caregiver support in order for caregivers to stay engaged and provide guidance when it come to their level of care.
